You ARE far too smart to stand in your own way!! STOP IT! Okay, enough tough love, but seriously what are you getting in your own way about? Take a few minutes right now, take three deep breaths and ask yourself – where am I getting in my own way? The answer might surprise you. It might even be a major breakthrough!
I recently did this for myself a couple weeks ago and had a radical revelation. I was getting in my way in a MASSIVE way with my work. This might sound ridiculous but unconsciously I think I was really scared of my unlimited potential. I was SCARED of success!! There is a great Marianne Williamson quote that goes,”Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” And that is exactly what was happening to me.
Luckily, the greatest blessing is in the acknowledgment of where we are blocking ourselves because then we can simply open our eyes to how we can bust through that block. I’ll spare you the story of how I busted through mine but it’s safe to say now I am more ready than ever to embrace success with open arms.
Now for you, if your dealing with a body weight issue, this could look like being scared to be skinny! Are you nervous to have attention called to you? Does it scare you a little bit to step into that ideal body? Maybe it’s the effort that it will take to get there that scares you? Take a minute to think about what it could be. This could be a great time to free write some ideas. Whatever you come up with, ask yourself, what am I sacrificing by holding on to this belief? Write that list, get honest and emotional with yourself. Decide that you want whatever it is more than you want to hold on to that limiting belief.

Turning the day around!

“Everything we do is infused with the energy we do it with” – wise words from one of my spiritual gurus, Miss Marianne Williamson! Hit all too close to home this morning when I overslept my alarm and woke up when I was supposed to be on my way to set for the day. Absolutely worst way to wake up, right?! Despite having set at least five alarms, my body obviously didn’t feel like cooperating this AM. Naturally, I’m frantic, trying to remedy the situation and completely beating myself up but as soon as I caught my breath and was on my way I had to have a mini intervention. First, I serendipitously saw this quote and secondly, I knew that there was nothing my self-loathing was helping at the moment. So I put my big girl panties on, took a few deep breathes and allowed myself to be human. In that minute I made the choice to continue the rest of my day in peace instead of letting that frantic energy resonate with everything I did for the rest of the day. I hope this can inspire and move you to face your Mondays (and any other days) with love and peace. Maybe you can do one better than me and make that choice for peace before you get too far into that negative spiral! Our days will go as positively as our mindset allows, so let’s all have Marvelous Monday!

How do you use your time?

Laugh away baby. It’s a thousand percent true! You know that person in your life that always seems to get a ton of things accomplished in the same twenty-four hours you might as well of sleepwalked through? They don’t have some secret pass to stop time just to get more done and make people like you feel inadequate! They just manage their time wisely.
And guess what?!
So can you!! How? Well it’s the same way you manage anything! Want to see why you’re not losing weight? Write down what your eating so you can see all those extra calories you’re not considering. Want to know why your bank account is embarrassingly small? Well you would write your income and expenses down, right? So why not write down HOW YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?!

Try it! For one week, bare with me and log how you spend every hour of the day and then at the end of the week go back and look for “wasted” time. Anything you think could be a better use of your time and circle it. Now Write down all those things you’d LOVE to get done and start inserting them into those circles spots! Give it a shot. It can totally change the way you use your time. ;)

I challenge you to take a minute today and choose to remain peaceful on the inside. MONDAY motivation!

That’s right, it’s Monday! Monday has quickly become one of my favorite days of the week because I love writing these Monday motivation posts. I hope they get your week off to an inspiring and productive start the way they do to mine. This kick ass quote comes to you from Babe Ruth and I love it because (like many of the quotes I pick) you can apply it to your diet or healthy living choices but you can also apply it to ANY area of your life that you are frustrated with right now!

It IS hard hard to beat someone that won’t give up! In fact, it’s near impossible. SO what’s that area of your life your struggling to win in? Is it diet and fitness? Do you feel that every diet you try and fail is just another reason you’ll never be the size you want? Well trust me I know how discouraging life can be. I’m a professional actress, I got on audition after audition week after week without sometimes booking anything! It stings but you have got to focus on your end goal, whether that be a size 4, a successful marriage or a dream job because at the end of the day that’s what keeps you in the game! And the longer you stay in the game the easier it will be to win! It’s a great idea today while your killing sometime at work to take a post it note and write yourself a little reminder, maybe it’s this quote or maybe it’s just a sentence or two about why achieving your goal is so important to you. I find when trying to eat healthier and make better choices it’s easiest when you constantly remind yourself why it is so important to you. A reason that really resonates with you like “to be a good example for my kids” or “to love what I look like naked”. Whatever gets your blood flowing and engages you on the path toward success. Rome wasn’t built in a day, so cut yourself some slack and know that everyday you keep on striving and pushing for your goals is a victory. “It is very hard to beat someone that never gives up”.

MONDAY Motivation!

MM6                Mondays like today, I need this motivation as much as you probably do. Here in New York City it is dreary and gray with leftover snow piles cluttering the sidewalks in various shades of charcoal. Getting out of bed is not easy but somehow most of us have managed to do it.  This week’s motivation comes from a quote I’ve been reflecting a lot on lately. Well actually the exact quote I had been thinking of was “you get in life what you think you deserve”  but this is extremely similar I believe. You can have it all if your not afraid to ask for it!  Say that to yourself a couple times in a row and I think some things in your life may immediately start rearing their ugly heads at you. I’d even write it on a sticky note and put it by your desk or your mirror so that you can see it day after day. Are you asking for the things you want it your life?! I mean, really, really, literally asking.  We only have a short time on this planet and we shouldn’t waste a second of it not asking for what we want! Everything in our life is a reflection of what we are asking for right now, in relationships, in careers and in your BODY! Don’t accept anything less than you deserve! Now you can take this and run it through all those areas of your life but for the sake of brevity and because this website is about a healthy body, let’s focus on your health.

Are you demanding a healthy, fit and vibrant body? Or are you settling for less than you deserve? I hope this is not too “out there” for you guys but I truly believe if you can grasp this concept, you can transform your life. You can have the life, love and body of your dreams! If you put out into the universe (or google) the question “how can I eat for more energy” or ” how can I exercise to thin my thighs” etc, etc, you will get an answer! If your looking for ways to be more active, trust that they will appear, you’ll start noticing more active options for dates or maybe decide to start walking to your coworkers desk instead of sending them a short email. If you want a meeting with someone who you think is out of your reach (I use italics because they are just a person and this is all in your head) even the more reason to go ahead and ASK for it. This monday, I’m reflecting on what I want in my life and then seeing what kind of “asking” needs to be going on. I feel motivated and strong to take on this week and hope you do as well!

mm4              Albert Einstein has some of the most amazing quotes on life, he clearly had a lot more figured out than his contemporaries may have given him credit for. This particular quote, I selected to start of our week because I feel like it’s applicable to the mind and the body! Interpret as you may for it’s YOUR monday motivation but I’ll let you in on what I’m taking away from it. In life, what makes us happier than almost anything else is forward motion. Think about it. Progress, progress, progress. Think of an area of your life your really happy about right now and I guarantee it’s because your seeing progress in that area. This is why people can have tons of money and love and still be unhappy, what they really need is growth and progress, the feeling like they’re moving forward. What areas of your life can you make progress on? Is it your health or your diet? Because your already making progress by checking out this website and showing that you care about your life and your body! Set small goals to show yourself progress, how about making it to the gym 4 times this week instead of 2 or 3? That’s progress! Little by little you can accomplish big things! Of course, you can apply it more literally as well, moving helps keep our body balanced! It clears our and head and reduces stress when we exercise, that’s why when you skip the gym for a week you’ll tend to feel a bit of kilter and maybe not understand why. Our bodies love movement whether it’s walking to run your errands, cleaning our house or jumping on an elliptical. Movement keeps us balanced and happy. So happy monday my sweet and skinny loves, get motivated and get moving!!

Monday Motivation #3 :)

This is a quote passed on to me from my grandma and with the recent flu outbreak in Boston I thought it was very appropriate this Monday! Often on the day to day we let little things bog us down and sadly sometimes it takes an even bigger catastrophe in our life to really put everything into perspective for us. That cute guy you went on a date with not calling you back is an epic disappointment till you find out you can’t pay rent this month or lost your job and all that can seem like your world is crashing down till your doctor finds a lump in your breast. I don’t want to scare you, just trying to prove a point. Our health is soo incredibly important and it’s usually the first thing we tend to take for granted. We only get one body so why not put into it only the purest, most healthful ingredients to keep it running on super? You know what’s better than a flu shot these days? A fantastic immune system! Your body is such a wonderfully magical machine that can be your greatest ally against sickness if you are conscious about fueling it well. So eat those veggies and fruits, drink up that freshly made green juice and wake up everyday and say thank you to your body for doing its thing and keeping you happy and healthy! Our health is really our greatest wealth.

MONDAY MORNING MOTIVATION

Motivational quotes are probably one of my favorite things in the world. I’m a total quote-a-holic, I have pages of them in my documents, they’re tacked all over my cork board and scribbled on my dry erase board. So I thought I’d share my little personal “fire starter” with you. Every monday morning I’m going to share another motivational quote to start your week off on the right foot! I hope it get’s you thinking and sets your mind in the right direction for having the best week yet.

This first one is particularly close to my heart, it’s been with me since high school and it’s probably the closet thing to my life motto. “Life isn’t about finding yourself.
